Europe

European countries welcome more than 480 million international visitors per year, more than half of the global market, and 7 of the 10 most visited countries are European nations. Yet, not many come to Europe for diving, but upon a closer look you might be surprised on what Europe has to offer for scuba divers!

The most exotic diving in Europe can be found in the Atlantic where whale sharks, whales and manta rays visit the Azores each summer. The Canary Islands and the islands around Madeira have mostly rocky formations with marine life such as Barracuda and giant Groupers. Malta is the wreck diving capital and many other places in the Mediterranean offer interesting divespots with octopus, nudibranch, seahorses, etc. Turkey has the unique feature of diving with ancient artifacts and the waters of Iceland can cause vertigo because of its incredible clear waters that make you feel that you’re flying across thermal chimneys and across the arctic circle. So when you think about Europe, also consider diving!
