Comino is a 3,5 square kilometer island in between Malta island and Gozo. It's noted for its tranquility and isolation. It has a permanent population of less than half a dozen residents. Above all, Comino is a bird sanctuary, a nature reserve and a popular location for filmmakers (Troy, The Count Of Monte Cristo). There are several good dive spots to be found here, including several rocky formations and caves, such as Lantern Point.

Between Comino and adjacent islet of Cominotto is the transparent, cyan waters of the Blue Lagoon that is frequented by large numbers of tourists and tour boats daily.
