Lakes, rocky reefs and a volcano that is Portugal's highest point and a Vineyard Culture that was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO: PIco has many things to offer if you love nature, hiking, bird watching and a good glass of wine. Apart from its surroundings Pico is -together with Faial- the base for diving the Princess Alice Bank, the most famous divespot of the Azores where you can have close encounters with Mobulas blue sharks and shortfin mako sharks.

Only 6 km from Faial, Pico is part of the central group of islands. It’s the second largest island of the Azores. There are a dozen divespots with steep walls, canyons, pinnacles and sand plateaus and generally visibility is great.
