Canary Islands

The Canaries are a popular diving destination in Europe. On each island you can dive and there are a large number of dive centers to choose from. The dive spots are very diverse and for all experience levels. There are caves, tunnels, walls and wrecks to see. Visibility is good, averaging 20 to 30m.

Despite the lack of reefs, marine life is unexpectedly diverse due to the cold current, the “Canary Flow”: the water is constantly provided with cold nutritious water, attracting almost 700 species. Some of the Marine Life you can expect are various types of Rays (common, butterfly, eagle, electric, round), Grouper, Octopus, Jacks, Barracuda, Eel, Cttlefish, Lobsters, Trumpetfish, Scorpionfish, Parrotfish, Damselfish, and Wrasse.

You can also spot dolphins, whales, turtles and sometimes angel sharks on the sandy bottoms.
