From the northwest to the south-east tip, Malta is just 27km long and 14km wide. The entire island takes no more than 45 minutes to cross from north to south, making various dives accessible in any one day.

Conservation Areas around Wrecks

A number of conservation areas have been established around submerged wrecks located in Malta. Obviously these are interesting dive sites to visit. Currently, there are seven of these protected areas:

  • Blenheim Bomber off Xrobb l-Għaġin
  • Bristol Beaufighter off Exiles Point
  • The Imperial Eagle off Qawra Point
  • MV Xlendi, Cominoland, Karwela off Xatt l-Aħmar
  • Rożi, P29 off Ċirkewwa
  • Tug St. Michael, Tug 10 in Marsaskala
  • The Um el Faroud in Wied Iż-Żurrieq
