Mexico is the 3rd largest country in Latin America (114 million people). With 32 states that are very diverse, it offers something interesting for everyone: whether you prefer jungle, mountains, deserts, tropical beaches or cultural sites -such as the Mayan temples- you are able to find something to your liking. The same goes for diving: there is a wide range of different type of divespots.

About 10% of the population is of native origin (i.e. Mayan, but there are many more communities), also called ‘indigenas’. The majority of the population is a mixture of European (Spanish) and indigenous traditions. And of course the neighboring country, the United States has a large influence on the economy and its ‘street view’, such as infrastructure, cars, retail chains, etc.
