Queensland is Australia’s perfect holiday destination: 300 days of sunshine each year, a seemingly endless coastline with welcoming towns and islands and of course an abundance of flora and fauna to explore. It is home to the most famous diving destination on the planet, the Great Barrier Reef, which makes this region a must-visit for all diving enthusiasts. Other famous highlights are the Sunshine Coast and the Daintree Rainforest, whereas somewhat lesser known gems include the Whitsunday Islands, with white sandy beaches, and a number of beautiful national parks inland.
The region is known for offering an excellent outdoor lifestyle: possible activities include rock climbing, bushwalking, bungee jumping and horse riding. It is, however, mostly the watersports opportunities – diving, snorkeling and surfing – that make this one of the most alluring vacation spots in the world.
