The most famous and best dives on Australia’s East Coast are:

  • Osprey Reef: a remote diving site, 110 kilometers from the Great Barrier Reef, which offers great visibility and some of the best shark action in the country
  • Ribbon Reefs: a beautiful and more quiet diving site in the northern part of the Great Barrier Reef
  • Cod Hole: a great diving site located on the northern part of the Great Barrier Reef, where you can swim with the giant potato cod
  • Lady Elliot Island: a perfect gateway for the southern parts of the Great Barrier Reef, with excellent visibility and a great manta ray population
  • Heron Island: a beautiful and very accessible diving site located on the southern part of the Great Barrier Reef
  • Flinders Reef: a beautiful reef with an amazing 119 species of coral and 175 species of fish
  • Yongala Shipwreck: Australia’s greatest shipwreck, home to a large variety of marine inhabitants
